Scheelite Secures Impressive Win
Collingrove Stud looks like they have unearthed a serious racehorse in the making with a yearling they sold at Adelaide Magic Millions last year. Scheelite, (below) made it 2 wins from as many starts with a comprehensive win at Flemington on Saturday. This follows his debut win at Sandown only 2 weeks prior. The spring awaits now for this talented you gster with the G1 Caulfield Guinness or the G1 Coolmore possible targets.The win not only highlights Scheelite’s exceptional racing ability but also signifies a significant milestone for Collingrove Stud as their first win preparing a yearling for Arrowfield Stud.
Scheelite, a 2-year-old bay colt sired by Real Steel and out of the mare Miss St Tropaz, demonstrated remarkable potential since selling for $80,000 at the 2022 Adelaide Magic Millions Sale. Trained by Ken & Kasey Keys, Scheelite “ticked all the boxes as yearling”Keys said.
Collingrove Stud’s manager, Daniel Brash, praised Scheelite during his preparation saying “he is the best type of yearling i’ve ever taken to a sale”
The 2yo winners continued on Monday with Lean Mean Machine filly Material Dreams (above) bolting in on debut at Moe for trainer Nick Ryan. She was a 55k purchase at Melbourne Premier sale.
Brash mentioned that sale results for his clients were very important but more of an importance on race results as they will improve our clients mares.
