Grand Pierro has put himself up with the leading contenders for the Group 1 Victoria Derby on 29th October with a stunning come from behind win in yesterday’s Listed Geelong Classic 2200m. The lightly raced son of Pierro has now won 2 of his 6 starts to date with trainer Jason Warren holding no concerns at all with him staying the Derby trip at Flemington on Saturday week.

The win brings up a great few weeks for Collingrove Stud graduates especially from our 2021 Melbourne Premier draft. Grand Pierro started it off with a tough win at Pakenham, followed the next day by Sir Torobeel (Toronado/Miss Maggiebeel) winning convincingly at Benella. Another promising horse from the same sale is Ejaz(Street Boss/ Riverina Red) who is one of the best up and coming talents in Singapore winning 2 of his 3 starts to date and coming 3rd in his other start.

Deekay (Helbent/Seagrove) also saluted in the winners list with a impressive win at Pakenham last week winning by 3 lengths. He is definitely a horse to keep an eye on as he could be right up to stakes class aswell. Keep an eye out for Naiconi(Niconni/Embark) who won her trial impressively at Ballarat to join the list of winners very soon. Victor the Winner(Toronado/Noetic) from our 2020 Melbourne Premier draft looks like one of Hong Kong’s stars of the future bolting in on debut at Sha Tin. He won a trial last week and is set to have his second start very soon.
